EHS / Safety Specialist
Locations: Northern Indiana & Central Indiana
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: Daily to job sites within service territory/region

Compensation & Benefits:

• $80,000–$130,000 base salary (DOE)

About the Role

We’re seeking experienced Safety Specialists to join a growing utility construction team with a strong culture and people-first mindset. These roles will be critical in driving a proactive, safety-first culture while ensuring compliance across overhead electrical distribution and transmission projects.

As part of a fast-growing organization, you’ll have the opportunity to influence safety practices across multiple sites, work closely with leadership, and contribute to the development of field teams in high-voltage environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field safety audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards

• Lead safety meetings, stand-downs, and on-site training sessions

• Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage; identify root causes and corrective actions

• Maintain and update JSAs, hazard analyses, and safety documentation

• Support compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements for fleet and driver safety

• Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and utility representatives on safe work planning

• Mentor and coach team members to build a strong, engaged safety culture

• Stay current on industry regulations and recommend updates to policies and practices

Qualifications

Required:

• 2+ years of safety experience in utility construction, powerline work, or heavy industrial settings

• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926 standards, NESC, and electrical safe work practices

• Ability to travel daily to multiple job sites

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Preferred:

• Field linework experience (strong plus)

• Experience with overhead electrical distribution/high-voltage crews

• Safety certifications (OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, USP, etc.)

• Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance
