Design Engineer - Manufacturing & Production Floor Focus
- A.S. Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) and 1 year of 2D & 3D CAD experience is at a minimum required
- Significant hands-on production floor experience in manufacturing is a must for this custom, high-volume environment
- Pay is up to $70,000
- Expertise in process development, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement is required
- 60-70% of the time is spent on the production floor (not a desk job)
- Full-time, permanent, salaried W-2 position
- No remote work as this is an on-site position

The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate are as follows:
- Serve as the primary engineering resource on the production floor (60-70% of time), directly engaging with manufacturing and quality teams to teach, check, and implement process improvements.
- Design, develop, and optimize high-volume production processes to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and increase repeatability using root cause analysis.
- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD skills to design, test, and modify mechanical devices, tooling, and existing/new machinery (including retrofitting and commissioning).
- Manage the full product lifecycle, from initial quote and tool design through process qualification and operator training.
- Act as a technical liaison for Sales and cross-functional teams, solving complex daily problems and securing new business by improving current products and processes.
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in an Engineering discipline (Bachelor's preferred)
- 1+ year of professional experience utilizing 2D and 3D CAD for design/modeling
- Proven, hands-on experience on a manufacturing production floor, comfortable with shop work, troubleshooting, and training personnel
- Strong technical aptitude and a dedication to continuous learning to master new machinery and proprietary processes
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player, communicating proficiently with both internal and external customers
- US citizen or possess a green card
