Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager to provide leadership and oversight for a high-acuity emergency unit. The role ensures that patient care consistently meets professional standards and aligns with organizational policies. This position is accountable for 24-hour management of staffing, operations, patient flow, and overall quality of care within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adherence to clinical and operational protocols.

  • Support professional development and performance of staff through coaching, mentoring, and evaluations.

  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical support staff, and senior leadership to maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment.

  • Monitor performance metrics, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with established standards.

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and high-quality patient care.

  • Maintain clinical competency by actively participating in patient care as needed and supporting staff in skill development.

  • Oversee patient assignments, evaluate care outcomes, and address patient or family concerns in a timely manner.

  • Participate in resolving staff issues, grievances, and professional challenges, ensuring fair and consistent practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of recent experience in acute care, with hands-on Emergency Department experience.

  • Strong clinical background in emergency nursing with demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Additional Information:
