COMMERCIAL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Our client, a premier AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its distinguished Commercial Litigation Practice Group. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in complex business litigation who is eager to work on sophisticated matters alongside a team of highly regarded litigators.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 4–5 years of substantive experience handling complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage written and document discovery; research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings; conduct and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony; appear for status conferences; and argue motions
  • Experience participating in settlement conferences and negotiations, as well as trial preparation, is preferred
  • Proven persuasive legal writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with partners, clients, and colleagues across offices
  • Exceptional work ethic, proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a busy, collaborative environment
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all aspects of commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and overseeing document production
  • Research and draft substantive motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Conduct and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony
  • Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and oral arguments
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and conferences
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness outlines, exhibit preparation, and pretrial filings
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to develop and execute litigation strategy

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual salary range of $290,000-$390,000, as determined by experience and market factors
  • Eligibility to earn a discretionary bonus
