Position Summary

The Divisional Vice President, Global Sourcing is a strategic and operational leader responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive sourcing strategy. This role ensures the delivery of quality, cost-effective, socially responsible, and innovative products that support growth, margin expansion, and strong client service.

This leader will oversee global teams including supplier relations, product development, compliance, and procurement, serving as a connector among Sales, Merchandising, Design, Logistics, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless execution.

The DVP will develop a scalable sourcing network focused on profitability, efficiency, and speed-to-market. The role also drives continuous improvement, digital enablement, and change-management initiatives that support strong governance, capability building, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Lead high-level strategy for global sourcing, driving efficiency, accountability, and alignment with business goals.

  • Develop short, mid-, and long-term sourcing plans tied to growth, profitability, and operational objectives.

  • Create and maintain governance standards including supplier procedures, contracting, and compliance.

  • Build and implement sourcing and purchasing tools (e.g., RFP templates, evaluation frameworks).

  • Oversee contract negotiations, bid management, and vendor selection to optimize total cost of ownership.

  • Align sourcing strategy with financial, operational, and ESG priorities.

Cross-Functional Leadership & People Development

  • Lead and develop a global, cross-functional team across sourcing, merchandising, compliance, logistics, and operations.

  • Build clear role expectations, competencies, and development paths to support scalability.

  • Foster a culture emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement change-management programs to support new tools and processes.

  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment among stakeholders at all levels.

  • Drive professional development through training, coaching, and documentation.

Operational Excellence & Analytics

  • Leverage data analytics to measure performance and prioritize improvements.

  • Develop dashboards and scorecards to track supplier performance and operational KPIs.

  • Balance unit cost, delivery timing, quality, yield, and freight optimization.

  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate budgeting and cost-management.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes.

Supplier Management & Compliance

  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic global suppliers.

  • Ensure sourcing compliance with ethical, environmental, and social standards.

  • Lead supplier performance reviews, audits, and corrective action plans.

  • Develop vendor scorecards, SLAs, and incentive models.

Tactical Execution

  • Oversee supplier setup, RFPs, and bid analysis.

  • Approve final costing, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.

  • Support logistics and compliance teams to ensure on-time, quality delivery.

  • Create and maintain sourcing documentation and SOPs.

  • Respond to sales teams with sourcing insights, costing models, and timeline strategy.

Communication & Reporting

  • Create reports and presentations for leadership and internal stakeholders.

  • Prioritize multiple projects and ensure deliverables are completed on time.

  • Provide timely responses and strategic input to internal partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field; Master’s preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive sourcing / product development experience.

  • 7+ years leading multi-country teams.

  • Experience building scalable sourcing networks across Asia and global regions.

  • Strong experience deploying governance frameworks and performance systems.

  • Advanced analytical and financial skills.

  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-changing environments.

Position Details

  • Budget Oversight: Full sourcing & procurement budget responsibility.

  • Team Size: 5–7 direct reports.

  • Travel: 25–35% domestic and international.

  • Location: U.S. HQ with flexibility; global collaboration may require off-hours meetings.
