Headquartered in Syracuse, NY, they are rapidly scaling and investing in next-generation RF, radar, and sensor technologies.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join a cross-disciplinary team designing and testing the RF systems that power our client’s innovative airspace security solutions. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, blending circuit board-level RF design, antenna modeling, and lab-based testing with opportunities to guide junior engineers and help shape state-of-the-art test facilities.Key Responsibilities
RF System Development
Derive, define, and document RF system and subsystem requirements.
Architect, design, simulate, and model RF circuit cards, subsystems, and interfaces.
Perform schematic capture, component selection, BOM management, and integration of RF structures into PCB-level designs.
Testing & Validation
Conduct lab-based RF testing using industry-standard equipment and measurement methods.
Support and lead anechoic chamber testing and characterization; contribute to the development of new in-house test facilities.
Participate in integration events and cross-functional design reviews.
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to balance design tradeoffs.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development.
Contribute to project planning, execution, and oversight.
What We’re Looking ForRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of RF engineering experience (will consider strong candidates with ~3+ years of highly relevant experience).
Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Genesys, MATLAB, Python, or similar EM tools).
Hands-on experience with lab-based RF testing and measurement equipment.
Strong communication skills—able to clearly explain complex RF concepts and collaborate across teams.
U.S. Citizenship (due to the nature of the technology).
Preferred:
Experience with antennas, phased arrays, receivers, exciters, and microstrip/embedded RF structures.
Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Mentor Graphics, Altium, etc.).
Experience with anechoic chamber measurements and facility development.
