Our client is a full-service law firm that has been serving clients for over 150 years. Specializing in insurance defense, with a strong focus on construction labor litigation. They are committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients, which include insurance companies, contractors, and construction industry professionals.

They are seeking an experienced and driven Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing construction labor litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction law, insurance defense, and labor disputes. As a key member of its team, you will represent clients in all phases of construction-related litigation, from pre-trial motions to trial preparation and resolution. They have a clear partner path for highly motivated individuals. In addition, they would also consider attorneys with litigation experience who are interested in joining this specialized practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in insurance defense matters related to construction accidents, labor disputes, and contractual issues.
  • Manage and litigate cases from inception through resolution, including pre-trial, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.
  • Provide legal analysis and strategic advice to clients on construction-related risk management and compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as complaints, answers, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Work closely with insurance adjusters, risk managers, expert witnesses, and other stakeholders to develop defense strategies.
  • Maintain and manage a caseload efficiently while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Stay current on developments in construction law, insurance defense, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in NY; NJ bar, a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on construction labor litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction law, including OSHA regulations, labor laws, and indemnity agreements.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven track record in managing complex litigation and successfully representing clients in construction-related legal matters.
  • The salary range for this role is $105,000-$150,000 plus strong benefits. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
