Scientist, Nanopore Sequencing
My client is expanding and seeks a Scientist with Nanopore Sequencing, including library construction and data analysis workflows.
The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:
Lab + Library Construction
· Perform Nanopore library preparation using ligation, rapid barcoding, and PCR-free protocols.
· Conduct quality control of input materials and optimize library construction workflows.
· Operate sequencing devices (MinION, GridION, PromethION) and troubleshoot technical issues.
· Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Data Analysis & Bioinformatics
· Process raw Nanopore data using ONT software suite (MinKNOW, Guppy/Dorado).
· Perform genome assembly, structural variant detection, and downstream analyses.
· Develop bioinformatics pipelines using Python, R, or workflow management tools.
· Generate reports and visualizations for research projects and collaborators.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics and 0-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
· Demonstrated experience with Nanopore library construction protocols.
· Proven expertise in Nanopore data analysis and bioinformatics workflows.
· Programming proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages.
· Experience with command-line tools and genome analysis software.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Outstanding publication record.
