Nurse Manager/ Med Surg 

Location: Murrieta, CA

Salary: $145,000 - $183,000 + Annual Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our MedSurg unit in Murrieta, CA. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong clinical background, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the MedSurg unit, ensuring efficient patient flow, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Essential Job Duties:

• Leadership and Management:
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the MedSurg nursing team.
  • Oversee daily unit operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and optimal resource utilization.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff, promoting professional growth.
  • Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Clinical Expertise:
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise in MedSurg nursing.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Address and resolve patient and staff concerns.
• Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, reporting, and communication.
  • Accurately calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, BSA, circumference and volume.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy:
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Maintain confidentiality and function effectively with high volumes of patients.
  • Solid understanding of English, grammar, and punctuation.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent MedSurg nursing experience required.
• Charge nurse or supervisory experience in MedSurg preferred.

Minimum Essential Education:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in a related field (Nursing) required.
• Master's degree from an accredited College or University in a related field (Nursing) preferred.

Required Licensure / Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current California license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic EKG/tele interpretation experience required, or completion of a Basic EKG class within six months of employment.
