Our Award-Winning Client is a nationally recognized leader in its industry, known for operational excellence and innovation. They are seeking a Plant Engineer to oversee and optimize maintenance and engineering functions at a key manufacturing facility. This role involves managing capital assets, improving equipment reliability, controlling budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Reliability Oversight – Lead the maintenance team, coordinate repair schedules, and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Capital & Budget Management – Develop and manage capital expenditures (CapEx) and maintenance budgets with monthly reporting.
  • Process & Productivity Optimization – Implement efficiency improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Energy Management – Oversee energy programs to enhance facility efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Technical Problem-Solving – Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and system issues.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Manage, train, and develop a team of salaried and hourly employees in the maintenance department.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with plant leadership to align engineering and maintenance efforts with broader business goals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years in manufacturing, maintenance, or project engineering.
    • 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
    • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).
    • Proven analytical and quality improvement abilities.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
    • Business acumen with a focus on results.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
    • Minimal travel required (approximately two weeks per year).
    • Work environment includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, heights, and moving mechanical components.
