Our Award-Winning Client, an industry-leading manufacturer in the plastics and packaging sector, is seeking a highly skilled Engineer IV to join their Orlando-based team. This senior-level role will focus on engineering leadership, project execution, and process optimization across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project lead for major capital initiatives, overseeing budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and performance to design standards.

  • Provide engineering and processing support to facilities in Orlando, FL; Winchester, KY; and Hanover, PA.

  • Actively drive maintenance excellence programs and support reliability improvements.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment upgrades, and automation strategies.

  • Collaborate with Plant Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to identify productivity opportunities and address skill gaps.

  • Contribute to hands-on troubleshooting, equipment enhancements, and day-to-day technical support when required.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, machinery, and Sonoco processes.

  • Monitor project spend and ensure cost-effective execution of capital investments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a mechanical or plastics focus.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the plastics industry (injection molding and/or profile extrusion).

  • Proven experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, automation, and PLCs.

  • Strong track record of project management, including budget control and vendor coordination.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and occasionally work extended hours or weekends as project needs dictate.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with maintenance assessments and technical skill evaluations.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, CAD software, and project management tools.

  • Competitive base salary, with annual performance bonus eligibility (target bonus of 7.5% of base).
