GovStaff is seeking a Senior Level, TS cleared, Systems Engineer for a key permanent long-term job opening in Quantico, VA. Due to the secure nature of the responsibilities, this position is fully onsite in Quantico.

The selected candidate will be responsible for executing and leading complex engineering activities while serving as a technical lead for large-scale infrastructure and lifecycle projects in classified environments. Must have the capability to provide expert-level support across Windows, Linux, virtualization, and VDI technologies, ensuring mission-critical systems remain secure, resilient, and effective

 

 

Required Qualifications

·        Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility preferred).

·        Five (5) years of experience engineering and supporting complex distributed server infrastructure (Windows and Linux).

·        Expert-level experience building and supporting Windows desktop systems (Windows 7, 8, 10).

·        Expert-level experience designing infrastructures for high-latency, low-bandwidth networks (satellite/cellular broadband).

·        Five (5) years of experience engineering and supporting virtual infrastructures.

·        Five (5) years of experience supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (Citrix or VMware).

·        Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent certification.

·        Prior supervisory or management experience leading systems integration teams in large-scale environments.

·        Experience with system architecture design, implementation oversight, test/troubleshooting, and system management tools.



 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

·        Current CISSP, CASP+, or other advanced DoD 8570 IAT/IASAE certifications.

·        Additional vendor certifications such as:  VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V),  AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect

·        Experience supporting federated systems across multiple organizations/agencies.

·        Hands-on expertise with satellite and cellular broadband technologies in secure or tactical environments.

·        Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NIST SP 800-171, RMF, and other federal security compliance standards.

·        Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in classified environments.

·        Strong scripting/automation background (PowerShell, Ansible, Python) for system management and deployment.

·        Experience designing and managing continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery (DR) systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead, plan, and execute highly complex engineering activities for enterprise IT systems.

·        Act as technical lead for all design-to-cost and lifecycle activities on large-scale projects.

·        Design and engineer virtual infrastructures leveraging Hyper-V, XenServer, ESXi, and VMware.

·        Engineer and support global Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

·        Design, build, maintain, and support workstation and server images (Windows and Linux).

·        Develop and maintain automated patching and software deployment systems.

·        Provide senior-level (Tier 4) support for remote end-user systems.

·        Support federated systems with external organizations.

·        Review, recommend, and implement new solutions and emerging technologies (with Government approval).

·        Develop highly detailed system design diagrams and documentation.

·        Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership and recommendations to Government representatives.

·        Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
