Role Overview 

The Director of Finance is a strategic leader, tasked with guiding Top Echelon Software through its next phase of growth and financial excellence. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a dynamic blend of financial acumen, strategic vision, and leadership prowess. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, enhancing operational efficiencies, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and board of directors, providing actionable financial insights that drive the company's success.

  • Maintain all financial records, cash management, and insurance coverages.

  • Prepare all financial statements, management reports, and board materials ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Manage annual financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor budget variances, provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements, and maintain up-to-date financial forecasts.

  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as all regulatory and lending requirements.

  • Supervise HR operations, assisting in the oversight of benefits administration and compliance, ensuring our employees receive top-notch support and benefits.

  • Collaborate on strategic initiatives, including evaluation of acquisitions and partnerships.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Five or more years of experience in a financial leadership role.

  • Exceptional leadership qualities, with experience supervising HR operations and a commitment to developing a supportive and professional work environment.

  • Strong background in generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience with multi-state regulatory and tax issues.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in a SaaS or tech environment. Experience in the recruiting or HR industry is a plus. 

  • Experience with business combinations and private equity ownership models.

  • Knowledge of Quickbooks Online.

  • MBA or CPA are highly preferred.
