We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Engineer and Account Manager in the Columbus, OH or Lexington, KY area with experience selling material handling, conveyors, controls systems, or industrial equipment to Toyota Motor Manufacturing. This is a direct hire opportunity.  
 
Responsible for establishing and identifying accounts and concepts in the material handling systems industry. Will work with estimating to develop pricing and proposals, and negotiate contracts. Must be a highly motivated self-starter.  Determine customer needs and critique proposed material handling systems to determine the likelihood of the customer purchasing. Meet with customers, review jobsites, occasional limited climbing. Identify capable subcontractors in local areas to assist Estimating in the proposal effort. This includes taking contractors on “job walks” as required. Develop close customer relationships with key decision makers in purchasing, engineering, and at the plant levels.
 
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment, technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment, work with installation department.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers
  • Prepare schedules, charts, and support installations.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
  • Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery
  • Plan and modify products to meet customer need
 
Education and Experience
  • A four year bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4+ years’ experience in automation, material handling, conveyors, PLC's, or other industrial equipment.  
  • Interest or experience in technical sales and business development.
