Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prototype Machinist/Fabricator for our client in Auburn Hills. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional shop skills, a creative and innovative mindset, and a strong commitment to delivering quality results. You will be responsible for performing various machining, welding, and fabrication tasks to meet customer requirements, demonstrating a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG and TIG welding with proficiency.
• Fabricate components and parts to specifications using conventional and CNC machines.
• Set up and operate equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, shears, drill presses, and press brakes.
• Operate Prototrak mills and lathes with expertise; CNC mill and lathe experience is a plus.
• Work from sketches, verbal instructions, or incomplete drawings to create functional prototypes.
• Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction and ensure quality standards are met.
• Demonstrate business-like behavior, professionalism, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
• Apply fundamental prototype processing principles to daily tasks.
• Operate a Hi-Lo forklift when necessary (preferred but not required).
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in welding (MIG/TIG) and fabrication.
• Skilled in setting up and operating conventional machining equipment.
• Familiarity with CNC machining is a plus.
• Ability to interpret sketches and verbal instructions when drawings are unavailable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Innovative mindset with a willingness to take on extra responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
