\n\nThe Senior Project Engineer will plan, monitor, and coordinate on-site construction engineering activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
\nThis role will work closely with project management, field teams, and owners to ensure accurate project execution and provide leadership and mentorship to project engineering staff. Candidates with heavy civil or rail project experience, including preconstruction services and alternative delivery methods, are highly encouraged to apply.
\n\nAnalyze and price change orders and manage associated documentation.
\nAssist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, and cost forecasting.
\nSupport the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules (CPM and monthly updates).
\nSupervise, mentor, and support project engineers to ensure quality performance and professional growth.
\nCoordinate and manage field operations, ensuring alignment with project goals and schedule milestones.
\nLead and monitor subcontractor, vendor, and supplier coordination, including self-performed work.
\nPrepare and maintain weekly project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
\nEnsure critical path tracking and delay analysis is accurate and up to date.
\nServe as a liaison with the owner and project management team to communicate progress, issues, and solutions.
\nOversee project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and progress reporting.
\nParticipate in project planning meetings, budget reviews, and forecasting.
\nProvide technical guidance and resolve on-site construction issues.
\nMaintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
\nPerform additional related duties as assigned.
\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred.
\nEquivalent combinations of technical training and field experience may be considered.
\nOSHA 10/30 Certification required or ability to obtain.
\nFirst Aid / CPR / AED Training preferred.
\nCertified QSP for SWPPP preferred.
\nMust possess a valid Driver’s License.
\nStrong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
\nDetail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
\nSolid understanding of critical path scheduling and delay analysis.
\nProficient in Bid2Win, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.
\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
\nMotivated to take ownership of tasks and mentor others.
\nFrequent standing and walking at construction sites.
\nPeriods of sitting for extended durations.
\nOccasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
\nVisual requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.
