Maderra Personnel is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Specialist, Synchronous Condenser in Soldier's Pond, NL.

Job Function:

Technical expertise are required to assist Transmission Operations with the operation of the Synchronous Condensers at Soldiers Pond. Proponent shall have extensive expertise in areas that include, but are not limited to, technical support, field operations, and maintenance of assets that may include, but is not limited to, the following: 

• Synchronous Condenser (Winding, Rotor, Flywheel, Bearings, Cooling etc.)
• Excitation System
• SC Circuit Breakers
• Isolated Phase Bus System
• Static Frequency Converters
• Uninterruptable Power Supplies
• Power Transformers
• Synchronous Condenser Control and Protection Systems
• Station Monitoring and Control Systems
• Lubrications and High Pressure Lift Systems
• Hydrogen Seal Systems
• Pressurized Hydrogen System
• Medium Voltage Switchgear (25kV)
• Low Voltage Switchgear (600V)
• Low voltage switchboards and Motor Control Centers
• Emergency Power Equipment
• Building Automations Systems
• Fire Protection Systems 

• Three (3) years electrical, electronic, or mechanical technology diploma from a recognized technical institute (Higher levels of technical training are acceptable).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience
• Fall Protection, Confined Space Access, Powerline Hazards, and First Aid training.
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Legally qualified to work in Canada
• Fluent (spoken and written) in English.
