Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Accounting and Finance team in our Camarillo, California office. They were established in 1987, and provides IT services to Government customers.   This position will report to their Camarillo office.

The selected candidate will perform daily tasking to support the Accounting and Finance team including general accounting functions, processing Accounts Payable, and processing of and entering transactions into the cost accounting system. 

 

Responsibilities:

·       Reviewing invoices, expense reports and check requests, identifying discrepancies, and providing payment in accordance with applicable terms and conditions.

·       Providing answers to employees, subcontractors and customers about outstanding expenses or invoices.

·       Performing general accounting functions, as directed by Supervisor.

·       Substantiates financial transactions by reconciling discrepancies and auditing documents.

·       Entering Accounts Payable transactions into the cost-accounting system.

·       Maintaining digital and physical financial records.

·       Ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

 

Requirements and Skills:

·       Associates degree preferred, or two years of accounting experience.

·       Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software.  Knowledge of Costpoint/Deltek accounting software will be a plus.

·       Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

·       Active in looking for ways to assist employees and customers.

·       Communicating effectively in writing, as appropriate, for the needs of the audience.
