Our HR team is a key part of our success, and we seek an outstanding HR Manager who can help maintain a great work environment. 

 

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing human resources, including recruiting, professional development, personnel policies, and other HR. The HR Manager is also part of the leadership team. 

We seek a candidate who not only has deep HR knowledge, but who can also help create a great workplace culture and invest in our team as our organization grows. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

The HR Manager will oversee HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, professional development, HR compliance and workplace morale. The HR Manager is a valued member of Our senior leadership team. 

Specific responsibilities include the following: 

 

Culture & Values: Work actively to infuse Our mission and values across the team by reinforcing and encouraging processes, interactions, events and rewards that further the organizational culture. This includes the following: 

  • Support senior team to provide a positive work environment and invest in their teams.  
  • Coordinate the various efforts to build and reinforce culture including committees, employee assistance programs, and culture building activities.  
  • Be present in staff celebrations, community service events, etc. 
  • Support managers and other HR team members to improve the team member experience. 

HR Compliance 

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest HR legal requirements and provide HR policy guidance to managers and leadership. Coordinate when needed with legal counsel. 
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements for HR. 
  • Manage process for unemployment claims, FMLA requests, ADA accommodation situations, and workers compensation. 
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement, and administer personnel policies. Promote adherence across the practice. 
  • Ensure employee files remain up-to-date, complete, and compliant. Provide file access in accordance with policies. Keep all notices, forms, and manuals current across offices.  

Operational Support 

  • Analyze and understand metrics to make recommendations on how to improve and develop the organization. 
  • Establish a strong understanding of various departments and our organization as a whole in order to partner with departments heads in moving the organization forward.  
  • Coach and consult with leadership on organizational design, processes, and development. 

Employee Benefits 

  • Administer employee benefits, workman’s compensation, PTO, and 401K.  
  • Manage relationship with benefits administrators.  
  • Review benefits annually and make recommendations.  
  • Work closely with Finance to integrate with payroll. 

Team Member Life Cycle 

  • Recruiting: Oversee and support recruiting efforts, working closely with the recruiter. 
  • Onboarding: Oversee onboarding process which includes background checks, adding new team members to all systems and benefits, and orientation. Ensure new hires are aware of HR policies, procedures, and benefits.  
  • Professional Development: Handle processes for professional development including training sessions, making sure staff members complete required tests and training, supporting review and feedback processes, etc. Ensure all positions have up-to-date job descriptions.  
  • Compensation & Reviews: Recommend compensation that is compliant and competitive. Conduct annual market review of compensation. Oversee performance review process. 
  • Terminations & departures: Support administrative aspects of termination process. Conduct exit interviews. 
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations situations. 

Develop the HR department: Coach, support and develop direct reports in HR department. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a similar field. 
  • 5+ years of relevant, generalist HR experience with a track record of success and progression. 
  • Prior management experience strongly preferred. 
  • Oversight of an HR department at a company with at least 150 employees. 
  • HR certification preferred.  
  • Proficient knowledge of employment law and HR. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. 
  • Strong proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, and Word. Ability to learn new programs. 
  • Strong ability to interact well with others and build productive relationships. Strong conflict resolution skills. 
  • Ability to work independently to develop and meet goals. 
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills. Highly detail oriented and accurate. 
  • Absolute discretion regarding personnel matters.  
  • Strong judgement regarding personnel situations, managing priorities, and balancing multiple stakeholders. 
  • Driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Outcomes and Targets 

Performance reviews take place annually. Performance will be measured by the following: 

  • Team engagement scores 
  • 360 feedback 
  • Supervisor review based on delivery and execution of assigned responsibilities, as outlined above 

Schedule 

  • Hours: Full-time, most managers work 40-45 hours per week. May include weeks that may require more hours, e.g., review cycle, annual meeting, orientation, etc.  
  • Location: Primarily based in the HQ office. Travel to each full-time office at least every quarter. May be more frequent if need arises, e.g., training, meetings, etc. This is not a remote or hybrid position. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Compensation is comprised of base salary and bonus. It ranges $80,000 to $105,000 depending on prior experience.
