Our client, a busy and rapidly growing law firm, specializing in real estate development and public finance practice, is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to join the firm’s Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group in their Houston office. Associate Attorneys in the practice group work under the direct supervision of and in collaboration with the practice group’s Directors and in coordination with the group’s other associates and paralegals to provide legal counsel and transactional legal services to the group’s clients, which include both public and private entities in affordable housing, community development, real estate development, bond transactions, tax credit transactions, and commercial borrowers and lenders.

 

The ideal candidate will have 3-to-5 years’ experience in a private law firm setting with direct experience in affordable housing, bond, and/or tax credit transactions. Strong consideration will be given, however, to candidates with substantive legal knowledge and proven experience representing clients in real estate or real estate finance matters.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:• Currently licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas.• 3+ years of substantive legal experience in affordable housing, real estate, or real estate finance.• Demonstrated ability to immediately assume a meaningful role and participate in projects and client relationships.

Education Requirements:• College degree and J.D degree from an ABA accredited law school is required.• Top 1/3 of class preferred.
