Job Title: Sign Structure Foreman

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sign Structure Foreman to oversee the installation and maintenance of large-scale roadway and highway signage structures in and around the Rancho Cucamonga area. This role involves managing crews in the field, ensuring safety compliance, interpreting plans, and coordinating with project management to deliver quality infrastructure projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a field crew for the erection and maintenance of overhead, cantilever, and ground-mounted sign structures.
  • Read and interpret Caltrans-approved plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Plan daily work schedules and assign tasks to crew members, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
  • Operate or oversee use of cranes, aerial lifts, welding tools, and rigging systems in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards.
  • Conduct daily job site safety meetings and maintain a strong safety culture in compliance with California safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and local agencies.
  • Maintain job records, including materials used, hours worked, and safety documentation.
  • Identify issues or delays in the field and take proactive steps to maintain project timelines.
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety policies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sign structure or structural steel erection, including 2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Familiarity with Caltrans standards and public works requirements in California.
  • Valid California driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification and rigging/crane safety training (NCCCO preferred).
  • Experience working in high-traffic areas and with traffic control setups.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse crew.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Caltrans and public works infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of local California regulations and permitting processes.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48.00 per hour
