Job Overview:

Our growing client produces food additives using state-of-the-art drying technologies in addition to developing new processing technologies for primarily food applications and with other emerging clients such as chemical producers. They also custom design and install skid-mounted units at client sites or for in-house use. This person will spend 60% of their time focusing on the development of new processes and equipment from in-house ideas or from client requests. This person will make design recommendations to the pilot plant from their own computational fluid modeling calculations and then produce CAD diagrams to be shared with in-house engineers, chemists, and outside fabricators. 20% of the time will be spent on the floor working with technicians implementing new ideas and 20% of the job is developing and setting up experiments with some production support as needed. There is an in-house CFL engineer on site to share ideas with. This person is eligible for a bonus and a relocation package will be tailored to each candidate’s needs.

 

Requirements:

  • BS, MS or PhD Chemical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer (or related, Physics, etc.) with Permanent Residency or US Citizenship
  • 4+ years of Computational Fluid Modeling Experimental Design (FLUENT or COMSOL) with hands on experience from a manufacturing site or laboratory setting.

 Must Haves:

  • CAD
  • Strong background in fundamental heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics
  • Experience specifying and installing equipment in a lab or production setting
