Role Summary

The Cost Accountant plays a key role in supporting our U.S. manufacturing operations by delivering accurate and insightful cost reporting and analysis, helping drive informed decisions that impact profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, variances, and margins

• Partner with production and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking

• Review sales quotes to ensure full and accurate cost allocations

• Perform profitability and cost analysis for products and product lines

• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including cycle counts and adjustments

• Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close

• Assist in compiling monthly financial reporting packages

• Investigate and explain significant expense variances

• Reconcile key accounts and resolve discrepancies

• Continuously improve cost accounting procedures and internal controls

• Support special projects and financial initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA or MBA preferred

• Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

• Solid understanding of US GAAP

• ERP experience required; Oracle JDE preferred

• Proven career progression in accounting roles

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools

• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis

• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
