This non-union, consumer-packaged goods company has been in business for over 100 years producing a recognized line of products that many of us use every day. They are looking for a Plant Manager with exceptional leadership and project management skills who can drive project specific issues and goals to closure. The right candidate will have the ability to enhance a team environment including development of team-oriented manager and supervisor.

The Plant Manager will provide leadership, team development, technical expertise, and management of the Manufacturing and Administrative operations. They will direct the activities of the manufacturing process and of the manufacturing facility. This position will lead activities of the business functions concerned with the operations of the Companies manufacturing plant; including Production Operations, Materials, Quality, Facilities, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety and Administration. 

  • Promote an organizational culture of continuous improvement.
  • Championing the use of LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Process and Quality Control.
  • Drive Performance while maintaining employee morale.
  • Plan, develop and implement long-term strategic planning of manufacturing goals, personnel development and business objectives.
  • Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses withing budget allowance and investigate cost-reduction measures.
  • Effectively use policy deployment to ensure alignment of department goals and activities with organizational goals.
  • Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.
  • Manage Manufacturing Schedules to meet Customer requirements, optimize inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments.
  • Consider budgetary limitations, time constraints and customer impact.
  • Coach and review performance of direct reports
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational programs included but not limited to Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental; OSHA; EPA; State and Local
  • Duties and Responsibilities not limited to the above

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or related.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in CPG or Pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the use of process improvement techniques in manufacturing and the production process.
  • Expertise in LEAN philosophy and application of tools to lead the work team in performance.
