Health Safety Manager
Overview
The Health, Safety Manager plays a vital role in fostering a safe, compliant, and supportive workplace. This position is responsible for developing and implementing HSW policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting employee wellbeing through strategic initiatives, training, and data-driven insights. The successful candidate will collaborate with teams and leadership to align HSW objectives with the organization’s mission, while continuously enhancing their expertise and building strong internal relationships.
Job Requirements
- Policy Development and Compliance: Create and implement HSW guidelines and protocols to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Maintain an in-depth understanding of organizational policies and relevant regulatory codes, ensuring all work adheres to required standards.
- Guidance and Issue Resolution: Provide expert advice on interpreting and applying HSW policies, address routine inquiries, and escalate complex or sensitive issues to senior leadership.
- HSW Planning and Execution: Contribute to the development of the annual HSW plan, execute assigned tasks, and collaborate with supervisors and teams to meet objectives, resolving any implementation challenges.
- Audits and Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and facility inspections, implement corrective actions for identified hazards, and monitor adherence to HSW policies and procedures.
- Training and Development: Assist in designing HSW training programs, deliver engaging training sessions, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure staff complete required training.
- Budget Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for HSW projects, monitor expenditures, ensure alignment with approved budgets, and provide regular financial updates to leadership.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce detailed reports on HSW activities, performance, and outcomes, analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Professional Growth: Enhance expertise through ongoing assessments, training, and coaching. Pursue or maintain relevant professional accreditations and stay current on technology, regulations, and industry best practices through continuous learning, conferences, and specialized resources.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, delivering high-quality professional services to support business strategies and goals.
- Leadership and Communication: Effectively communicate the local action plan in alignment with the organization’s mission and vision, inspiring teams to achieve excellence and meet business objectives.
