Vice President & General Manager

*This role is a full time position with a Lean Focus client*

LOCATION/TRAVEL: Remote-US based with 50% domestic travel

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President and General Manager will be responsible for managing the product road map and life cycle for current and new products within their business unit. They will develop and carry out the business and technology strategy to meet customer needs. The right candidate will have experience with product management, development, marketing, and engineering within multiple commercial models.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing a clear strategy and initiatives for the business unit
• Sustaining growth for products with varying maturity levels and within multiple markets
• Leading Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales professionals to execute on the commercial roadmap
• Driving evolutionary engineering and long-term innovation for product groups; performing product rationalization
• Developing top talent at all levels to retain a strong team
• Utilizing Lean business tools such as visual management and 5S to model a culture of Continuous Improvement to achieve target metrics
• Driving overall strategy and growth in collaboration with the leadership team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business field; MBA or similar preferred
• Minimum 10 years of commercial leadership experience within product management, product development, engineering, and/or marketing
• Experience with multiple commercial models required (KAM, Distribution, etc.)
• Experience in a Lean manufacturing business and utilization of Continuous Improvement principles such as Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20
• Ability to lead, develop, and build successful teams; experience with organizational design and development
• General computer skills and advanced MS Office Suite experience
