About the Opportunity:We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our charter school client in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will support students with disabilities by identifying, evaluating, and addressing communication disorders to help them thrive academically and socially. Assess students’ speech, language, and communication skills to determine program eligibility and develop individualized treatment recommendations.
Provide direct speech and language therapy services tailored to IEP goals using evidence-based practices and appropriate tools.
Develop and implement treatment plans and interventions in compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to create, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with parents, teachers, school staff, and outside professionals to support student development and performance.
Train and oversee support staff, as needed, to deliver effective treatment interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, services, progress reports, and IEP compliance.
Evaluate student progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
Participate in team meetings such as IEPs, SSTs, and 504 planning, and provide consultative support to general education staff.
Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and assistive technologies when appropriate.
Maintain compliance with ethical standards, legal requirements, and confidentiality guidelines.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid California credential in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and procedures
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Familiarity with SEIS and IEP platforms
Bilingual skills are a plus
DOJ and FBI background clearance
Negative TB test result (within 60 days of hire)
Ability to occasionally travel to other school sites or meetings as needed
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
School and office environment
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and perform light physical duties
Requires visual and auditory acuity for monitoring students and conducting evaluations
Must be able to travel between school sites if needed
