As a Psychiatrist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Daily Responsibilities:
• Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder;
• Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder;
• Collaborate with an integrated team to discuss treatment plans and progress;
• Performs psychiatric assessments and evaluations;
• Design, execute or approve individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments;
• Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments;
• Provides services using a combination of telephone, and video (telemental/telemedicine) as required/directed;
• Provides unscheduled and or emergency services as needed for walk-in, open-access, and/or crisis clients at any time during scheduled shift;
• Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) as part of an evidence-based integrated approach to delivering behavioral healthcare services;
• Provides services beyond scheduled shift as required to meet the needs of acute walk-in, open access, and/or crisis clients;
• Evaluate recipient progress and makes referrals as needed;
• Gather and maintain patient information and records;
• Document all services within twenty-four hours of the date of a client’s visit and in accordance with state/federal guidelines and policies and procedure;
• Participate in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process as requested. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions;
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities;
• Maintains client confidentiality and confidential health information;
• Participates in meetings as scheduled;
• Signs clinical treatment plans as required;
• Meets or exceeds the then current individual billable units of service requirement;
• Additional duties as assigned.
Your skills and qualifications:
• Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
• Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice
• Current DEA registration
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
• Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred
• Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
• Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred.
