Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our client’s Bellingham, MA office and the surrounding job sites.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 5 years of heavy civil construction experience and hands-on estimating experience using B2W/Agtek (or similar).

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established heavy civil construction company specializing in sitework, utilities, earthwork, paving, and roadwork projects across Massachusetts. With a reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects safely and efficiently, they are seeking a skilled Project Manager/Estimator to oversee projects from bid through completion.

Job Description

  • Manage all phases of heavy civil projects, including sitework, utilities, paving, and drainage
  • Lead the estimating process: prepare final estimates, perform detailed quantity take-offs, and analyze bid documents
  • Coordinate bidding activities and attend pre-bid meetings with clients and subcontractors
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotes and perform cost comparison analysis (subcontractor vs. self-perform)
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, budgets, and manpower plans
  • Review contracts, change orders, and invoicing for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and vendors regarding project requirements and clarifications
  • Supervise and motivate project staff, providing guidance to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution
  • Conduct project inspections and oversee quality control throughout all phases
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety policies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (site/roadwork, utilities, paving, drainage)
  • Strong estimating experience with B2W Estimate, B2W Track, AGTEK, or similar software
  • Construction-related degree or equivalent field operations background
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure projects and construction methods
  • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership experience managing staff and subcontractors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
  • OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain) and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a CORI background check and pre-hire drug/alcohol testing
