Tax Director  

Our client is a private family office providing investment management, estate planning, tax, and accounting services to a multigenerational high-net-worth family.

This position is full time in the office (no exceptions).

Key Responsibilities:

·         Manage day-to-day accounting functions and supervise internal staff

·         Close books monthly and prepare management reporting packages

·         Review financial statements (individuals, partnerships, trusts, and corporate entities)

·         Oversee internal controls and implement financial process improvements

·         Manage risk management and insurance-related matters

·         Prepare and administer operating budgets; present to senior leadership

·         Review and approve trust and portfolio-related disbursements

·         Serve as liaison among trustees, attorneys, accountants, and family members

·         Prepare and consolidate financial statements for LLCs

·         Calculate and manage partner/beneficiary distributions

·         Oversee banking relationships and accounts payable processes

·         Utilize accounting software: Accounting CS, Fixed Assets CS, PortfolioCenter (Envestnet)

·         Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments for individuals, trusts, estates, and a private foundation

·         Prepare/review year-end tax schedules for submission to outside tax advisors

·         Oversee tax return preparation and conduct final review

·         Perform advanced tax research and planning; resolve complex tax issues

·         Maintain and update tax-basis spreadsheets across various entities (LLCs, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts)

·         Draft tax-related correspondence to Trustees

·         Manage relationship with outside tax firm

·         Utilize tax software: BNA Tax Planner, UltraTax, TaxAct

Qualifications:

·         CPA required and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

·         10+ years of relevant accounting with a heavy focus on high-net-worth tax.

·         Experience working with high-net-worth clients, trusts, estates, partnerships, and charitable entities

·         Supervisory experience with ability to lead and mentor accounting/tax staff

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant accounting/tax platforms

·         Trust and estate experience highly preferred

·         Base salary is $150,000 - $175,000 plus 15% bonus and solid benefits
