Job Title: Kitchen Manager

A high-volume, culture-driven restaurant concept is looking for an Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen at one of the most culturally significant and high-energy dining concepts in Detroit.

This is a full-service restaurant rooted in the celebration of African American culture, delivering authentic soul food with exceptional hospitality in a vibrant, high-energy environment. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented leader who can bring structure, accountability, and energy to a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is ideal for someone who is coachable, hungry to grow, and excited to be part of a rapidly expanding, Black-owned brand.

Day in the Life:

  • Support daily restaurant operations across front and back of house
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to deliver exceptional service
  • Ensure consistent food quality and adherence to brand standards
  • Execute systems, checklists, and operational procedures with precision
  • Step into service roles as needed to maintain guest experience standards
  • Assist in driving sales, profitability, and cost control initiatives
  • Prepare schedules, reports, and administrative paperwork in a timely manner
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring compliance with maintenance programs
  • Support performance management, including reviews and corrective actions
  • Maintain proper staffing levels while managing labor costs
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, and hospitality

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in restaurant management or similar leadership role
  • Strong systems-driven mindset with high attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a structured, feedback-driven environment
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant settings
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Financial acumen, including cost control and reporting
  • Proficiency in computer systems (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience managing and developing large teams
  • High energy, coachable, and growth-oriented mindset
  • Alignment with a corporate-style operational structure and expectations
