Job Title: Assistant General Manager

Restaurant is seeking an experienced and polished Assistant General Manager to help lead one of Louisville’s most iconic and successful dining destinations.  We are seeking a professional, service-driven leader who can help elevate the operation while bringing structure, consistency, and accountability to the team. This is a key leadership role with a clear path toward stepping into a General Manager position in the near future.

The Assistant General Manager will work closely with ownership and senior leadership to oversee daily operations, develop team members, enhance service standards, and ensure operational excellence throughout the restaurant. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in high-volume environments while maintaining a commitment to elevated service and guest satisfaction.

Day in the Life:

• Lead daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence
• Maintain and elevate service standards through floor presence, coaching, and hands-on leadership
• Train, mentor, and develop managers and hourly team members
• Drive accountability, consistency, and execution across all departments
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, inventory, and cost controls
• Collaborate with leadership to implement systems and processes that improve efficiency and guest satisfaction
• Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards
• Actively engage with guests, resolve service concerns, and build relationships with regular clientele
• Support beverage sales initiatives and assist in driving wine, cocktail, and specialty beverage revenue
• Partner with ownership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and growth
• Serve as a key leader during high-volume dinner and brunch services
• Step into broader operational leadership responsibilities as part of a planned succession path toward General Manager


Requirements:

• 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, upscale, fine dining, or polished casual environment
• Strong service standards and a genuine passion for hospitality
• Proven ability to train, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
• Demonstrated success creating accountability and operational consistency
• Strong understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and cost controls
• Ability to lead from the floor and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and polished leadership presence
• Beverage knowledge strongly preferred
• Sommelier certification or advanced wine knowledge is a significant plus
• Experience driving beverage sales and guest engagement preferred
• Ambition and readiness to grow into a General Manager role
