CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (JUNIOR–MID LEVEL)

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 100 international law firm, is seeking a motivated Construction Associate Attorney to join its expanding Construction Practice Group in Philadelphia or New York. This is an exceptional opportunity to advise on sophisticated development projects and collaborate with a nationally recognized team handling high-profile, complex construction matters.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 2–6 years of substantive experience drafting and negotiating design and construction agreements
  • Degree in Engineering, architecture, or construction management strongly preferred
  • Experience representing owners and contractors on complex development projects
  • Knowledge of insurance, bonding, lien law, and risk mitigation issues
  • Exposure to or interest in construction litigation
    • This role is primarily transactional, but may include litigation work
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, consulting, and related agreements for owners, contractors, and developers
  • Advise clients on insurance requirements, bonding, lien law, and other construction risk mitigation strategies
  • Support transactional matters involving major development and infrastructure projects
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed memoranda and contract analyses
  • Collaborate with partners and cross-disciplinary teams on project planning and risk assessment
  • Participate in construction-related dispute matters, including claim evaluation and litigation support
  • Provide practical, business-oriented counsel to clients across all phases of project delivery

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual base salary range of $225,000-$320,000, as determined by experience and market factors
