Pay: $190,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year

Job description:

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Work on headline-making cases involving antitrust, generative AI, no-poach, data breach, and other cutting-edge issues.
  • Take real ownership: run complex cases, mentor junior associates, and meaningfully share in strategy, not just execute tasks.
  • Join a top-ranked national plaintiffs’ firm with over 5 billion dollars recovered and extensive recognition from Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, and more.
  • Collaborate with highly respected partners and co-counsel on multi-party, multi-firm class actions and complex business disputes.
  • Excellent platform for career growth if you are currently in Big Law or high-end defense work and want more impact, visibility, and client contact.

Location On-site role based in either:

  • Downtown San Francisco office (Financial District)
  • Midtown Manhattan, New York City

Both offices are in highly walkable, transit-friendly areas surrounded by great restaurants, amenities, and other major firms and institutions.

Note (Must-Have Qualifications) You must be an experienced complex litigator (5+ years, ideally 10+), licensed in either California or New York, with substantial experience in large, multi-party or class cases and a strong track record as a legal writer and advocate.

About Our Client Our client is a nationally recognized plaintiffs’ litigation boutique focused on antitrust, class actions, and other complex civil disputes. Since launching in 2012, they have generated over 5 billion dollars in settlements and successful resolutions for consumers, creators, workers, and businesses. Their team brings over 200 combined years of litigation experience and is frequently appointed as lead or co-lead counsel in major federal cases, including groundbreaking generative AI and technology matters.

Job Description

  • Own and drive complex civil and class action cases from early investigation through trial and settlement.
  • Prepare, argue, and support critical motions and court hearings in federal and state courts.
  • Draft high-level pleadings and dispositive motions, including complaints, oppositions to motions to dismiss, summary judgment briefing, and class certification papers.
  • Lead and manage complex discovery, including e-discovery workflows, search terms, productions, and meet-and-confer negotiations.
  • Oversee document review teams, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strategic alignment.
  • Take and defend depositions; work closely with experts on liability, damages, and class issues.
  • Collaborate with co-counsel firms, coordinate joint prosecution efforts, and help manage large case teams.
  • Contribute to business development, speaking, and writing, including involvement in professional conferences and thought-leadership pieces.

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with either the California State Bar or New York State Bar.
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for 10+ years and demonstrable experience running complex cases or major workstreams.
  • Background in antitrust, class actions, securities, IP, mass torts, or other complex litigation is strongly preferred; high-end defense or plaintiff-side experience welcome.
  • Federal clerkship experience is highly valued and moves you to the front of the line.
  • Track record of excellent legal writing, strategic thinking, and oral advocacy.
  • Experience managing discovery, depositions, experts, and mentoring junior attorneys.
  • Comfortable working intensely in high-impact matters while maintaining professionalism and a collaborative approach.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Join a mission-driven team that uses the law to challenge powerful corporations and advance fairness in markets, technology, and the workplace.
  • Work in a low-ego, highly collaborative environment where partners are accessible and associates are trusted with real responsibility.
  • Build a career around complex, precedent-setting litigation instead of high-volume churn.
  • Competitive compensation, strong benefits, clerkship bonuses, and meaningful long-term growth potential.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge issues like generative AI, right to repair, and modern no-poach and wage suppression cases.
