We are seeking an experienced Subcontract Manager to join an exclusive team in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all key aspects of subcontract execution, ensuring full alignment with the program's goals, including cost, timeline, technical performance, and quality. This encompasses proposal development, negotiations, contract finalization, and the seamless integration of subcontract deliverables within the broader program framework.
Possess expert-level understanding of various contract structures (e.g., Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursement, Time & Materials (T&M), Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), Cost-Plus-Incentive-Fee (CPIF)), as well as government proposal processes and Basis of Estimate (BOE).
Demonstrate high-level proficiency in negotiating, managing subcontractors, and mitigating program risks.
Serve as a subject matter authority on reviewing technical Statements of Work (SOWs), clarifying project scope, and ensuring cross-functional accountability to reduce ambiguity in technical specifications and language.
Expertise in navigating FAR/DFAR regulations, Prime Contract flowdowns, international trade compliance, ITAR/EAR guidelines, import/export protocols, and general contract terms. Additionally, bring a solid grasp of policies and procedures, negotiation of legal documents, and supply chain strategies aimed at enhancing key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI).
Leverage problem-solving skills and analytical expertise to identify and resolve challenges, ensuring smooth project execution.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of how Subcontracts interact with other departments, including Contracts, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Business Development, and other key functions.
Report to the Program Manager, Business Development, Supply Chain Leadership, and Operations teams, analyzing complex issues and program changes, effectively communicating outcomes to senior leadership.
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Managers, Program Management, and technical teams to oversee high-value proposals and subcontract negotiations.
Experience with intellectual property (IP) and patent requirements.
Collaborate with technical teams to enhance processes, refine SOWs, propose improvements, and implement strategies for risk reduction and potential cost savings.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 13 years of related experience in place of a degree.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
Proficiency in FAR/DFAR regulations is essential.
DoD security clearance (preferred)
Experience in managing budgets and sales forecasting as a Cost Account Manager for Subcontracts.
Lean Six Sigma experience (preferred)
