We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to enhance our production processes. This full-time position requires an innovative engineer to drive the design, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful launch of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and lead time minimization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
- Hands-on expertise with CNC Mills (3 & 5 axis), CNC Turning, EDM, Gun Drilling, Welding, Hydrostatic Pressure testing, and Heat Treat
- Proficient in reading and interpreting Specifications, Procedures, Drawings, GD&T, and Manuals
- Solid modeling software skills, especially with SolidWorks and Inventor (Preferred)
- ERP systems experience is a plus, such as Visual MFG, Global Shop, JD Edwards
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, APQP, PFEMA, SPC
- Weld engineering and additive manufacturing knowledge is beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Key Objectives:
- Develop new product frameworks using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Enable effective cross-functional communication
- Create process routings, tooling, and fixtures for first-pass product success
- Oversee capital projects for growth in new markets
- Apply Lean principles to minimize waste
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment
- Utilize analytical and scientific principles in problem-solving
Essential Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed manufacturing instructions including Bill of Materials and Factory Layout Designs
- Ensure customer specifications are met within production plans
- Act as the primary contact for new product qualifications and launches
- Design necessary fixtures and gauges for production success
- Collaborate with teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluate and execute engineering changes as needed
- Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Programming teams for synchronized production
- Communicate effectively with customers to develop design-for-manufacture solutions
- Provide cost estimates for new and existing products
- Foster professional communication and teamwork across functions
