The Field Service Technician (FST) plays a critical role in supporting internal teams and external customers across North and South America, with occasional global assignments. This position requires strong technical expertise—particularly in electrical systems—along with knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment. The FST ensures timely, efficient, and accurate completion of service tasks, including troubleshooting, installations, repairs, upgrades, and after-sales support, while adhering to all company policies and safety procedures.
Essential Functions(including but not limited to):
Provide on-site technical support at customer facilities, troubleshooting and resolving issues with high-speed industrial equipment.
Work independently on complex electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with the ability to learn advanced troubleshooting methods within six (6) months.
Perform PLC programming, analysis, and adjustments to resolve production issues or implement process improvements.
Interpret customer production, layout, and process data to recommend installation, operational, or repair solutions.
Carry out machine-down troubleshooting, installations, conversions, and upgrades with autonomy and efficiency.
Conduct injection mold rebuilds, including dismantling, wiring, assembly, cleaning, and inspection.
Collaborate with engineering teams to provide analytical and technical support.
Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism and focusing on resolving equipment issues quickly and effectively.
Maintain and store tools and equipment properly.
Partner with remote technical teams and on-site customer personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
Prepare detailed technical reports after each service intervention.
Continuously update technical knowledge to stay current with industry advancements.
Travel domestically and internationally as required to support business operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong electrical experience and/or equivalent technical education, with mechanical aptitude.
Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components of high-speed industrial equipment.
Hands-on capability, including lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing manual labor.
2–10 years of experience with blow molding, injection molding, filling lines, palletizers, or robotics equipment.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering documents, and technical instructions.
Skilled in drafting technical reports and completing accurate documentation in MS Excel.
Forklift operation certification (or willingness to be trained and certified).
Calm, professional demeanor with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Strong multi-tasking skills in fast-paced environments without sacrificing accuracy or safety.
Computer literate with strong communication skills in English.
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and passport.
Willingness to travel extensively (85%+ including weekends) and internationally as needed.
Siemens Profibus/Profinet, Fanuc, or similar programming experience preferred.
Position Type: Full-Time Pay Structure:
$82K-$95K Annually based on experience
