Compensation:

·        Competitive salary based on experience

Shift Availability:

·        Day Shift: 5:00 am to 5:00 pm

·        Night Shift: 5:00 pm to 5:00 am

·        Schedule: 2-2-3 (36 hours one week and 48 hours the second week)

Overtime: Ability to work extended hours, including daily overtime and occasional weekends

Role Overview

As a Facilities Support Technician, you will play a vital role in overseeing the safe operation and maintenance of various industrial systems, including but not limited to an ammonia refrigeration system, boiler, water treatment systems, cooling towers and pumps, NH#, and compressed air compressors, HVAC systems, air dyers, freezers, rapid roll-up doors, hot water generating equipment, potable and non-potable water systems, sanitary and storm water systems, chillers, and distribution systems, structural upkeep of the building including roofing. The position requires frequent interaction with various employees in the maintenance department as well as employees from other departments. This positions provides assistance to the Maintenance Manager to ensure that assets are managed in accordance with IIAR, ASHRE, ASME, EPA OSHA, and applicable state and local codes. Ability to demonstrate a high skill level of utility-generating equipment listed above with a focus on ammonia (NHS) refrigeration experience and PSM compliance, a mechanical proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and operating a complete plant system. Your responsibilities will include monitoring equipment performance, conducting preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

Essential Functions

·        Adhere to all safety and company policies, actively contributing to a safe work environment.

·        Ensure assigned equipment operates smoothly and without issues.

·        Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks.

·        Monitor the performance of the ammonia refrigeration system and analyze system data.

·        Document contractor activities related to the refrigeration system.

·        Support the PSM (Process Safety Management) Program.

·        Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

·        Provide training to Maintenance Technicians on refrigeration system operations.

·        Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

·        Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems

·        Excellent communication and coaching skills

·        Detail oriented and organized

·        Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets: databases and word processing

·        Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and processes

·        Self-motivated, results-oriented, and excellent personal skills

·        Strong knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability

Daily Physical Demands

·        Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

·        Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds, and to bend or crawl into tight spaces.

·        Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.

·        Navigate job sites in various weather conditions, including wet and slippery surfaces.

·        Wear job-specific PPE as required.

Qualifications

·        Experience: Minimum of 5 years operating industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, including multi-stage ammonia compression systems.

·        Understanding and troubleshooting Complex Electrical Control Systems (GES or Frick) Liquid Recirculation Systems

·        Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation drawings

·        Screw Compressors

·        Evaporative condensers

·        Room Cooling Evaporators

·        Knowledge of safety criteria for Ammonia systems based in LLAR Standards

·        Boiler operations and inspections

·        Facilities plumbing and pipefitting

·        Air compressor and air dryer maintenance

·        Rapid roll door operations

·        Dock loading/unlading doors and levelers

·        Lock out/tag out programs

·        Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

·        Hazardous Communications

·        Must understand and be able to explain the physics of the refrigeration cycle

 

Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in HVACR, Refrigeration/Electrical, RETA and CRIO certificates, Trade School Certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.

·        Valid driver’s license.

·        Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

·        Effective communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.

·        Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and data management software.
