Network Operations Engineer

Job Location-Fully Remote 

Overview:

Varada Consulting, LLC is seeking a full-time Network Operations Engineer that will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program.  The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network engineering, operations, and troubleshooting. This Network Professional will have hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, triaging issues, ensuring network resilience, and coordinating with cross-functional teams during incidents or upgrades. This individual should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, facilitating technical discussions, and maintaining high availability across network systems.

Responsibilities:

•        Complete PPSM documentation and connectivity tests per an established schedule

•        Create, track, and troubleshoot network and firewall change requests

•        Coordinate and facilitate engineering connectivity events between multiple technical stakeholders

•        Track, document and run to closure firewall tickets

•        Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting event logs

•        Conduct and document root cause analysis (RCA)

Minimum Qualifications:

•        15+ years of professional work experience

•        Must create strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained.

•        Coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals and needs and ensure that all are adequately addressed.

•        Must be experienced in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.

•        Must be cost conscience as well addressing goals.

•        Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent or an additional 8 years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements

•        Network+CE

•        CCNA

•        VA experience preferred

•        Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
