Role Summary

The Director of Clinical Technology Management provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program and services. Located in a major acute care and teaching hospital, this role is critical in ensuring that all healthcare technology meets regulatory requirements, enhances patient safety, and aligns with the corporate vision of exemplary patient care.

Responsibilities 

I. Strategic Direction and Planning

  • Define the strategic direction of the HTM program through the setting of short and long-term goals.

  • Lead technology assessment and planning initiatives, and oversee medical device integration projects.

  • Drive compliance with UHS Corporate HTM goals and objectives.

  • Develop and execute key performance indicators (KPI’s) to measure program effectiveness and operational success.

II. Operational Oversight and Risk Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the HTM program within the assigned facility(ies).

  • Conduct comprehensive risk analysis and manage security protocols related to medical equipment and integrated devices.

  • Ensure that the facility’s program consistently meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements for healthcare technology management.

III. Leadership and Team Development

  • Develop and motivate the HTM team at the assigned facility(ies).

  • Create customized service delivery plans tailored to the specific needs of the facility(ies).

  • Assist in fostering collaborative relationships with UHS HTM leadership and facility/vendor partners.

IV. Financial and Vendor Management

  • Maintain fiduciary responsibilities for the HTM program, including budget oversight and required financial reporting.

  • Oversee vendor and contract management for all third-party biomedical and clinical technology services and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ to 10 years of overall experience with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of previous related experience.

  • Education: Minimum of Tech School certification or Associate's Degree required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Skills: Experience with healthcare technology management programs, including leadership, and knowledge of medical equipment.
