Non-automotive manufacturer is hiring an entry-level Quality Engineer!  The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager in a collaborative, team oriented culture.  You will have opportunity for future advancement and the chance to grow and develop in your career.  Daily you will be responsible for the following:
 
  • Maintain and improve quality assurance standards and practices in the plant 
  • Assist with and eventually lead root cause analysis and corrective actions 
  • Coordinate with production and engineering to maintain and improve quality standards 
  • Gather documentation and information to support the PPAP process 
  • Develop, train, coach and mentor quality staff
  • Utilize customer portals to monitor and update quality standing 
  • Assist with auditing 
  • Partner with team members to complete supplier approval 
  • Complete quality documentation 
  • Monitor first piece inspection, inspect incoming components and assist with quality standards on new products 
  • Monitor new launch processes and event trials
  • Administer quality training 
  • Discuss and update quality results and metrics on a regular basis to the management team 
  • Eventually communicate with customers on any quality concerns or issues
  • Provide daily direction to a team of established quality technicians and oversee quality lab activity 
  • Other duties as delegated by management
 
Qualified candidates should be eager to learn a new process and be trained in the quality field by established manufacturing professionals.  Working in teams, learning about Lean principles, enjoying being on the manufacturing floor up to 30% of your day and being collaborative should excite you about this position!  Individuals will enjoy challenging the norm and working towards constant continuous improvement in the quality department and within the organization.

Bachelor's degree, ideally in Mechanical Engineering or another technical field 2. An eagerness to work in manufacturing 
3. The desire to work within the manufacturing quality profession 
4. Strong verbal and written communication 
5. Experience leading projects in school, work or extracurricular activities 
6. Microsoft Office 
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:1. Supervision of others 2. Lean and/or Six Sigma training 3. Crystal Reports or another reporting software system 
4. Manufacturing co-ops
