A well-established, privately held, non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a Production Supervisor to work the night shift and lead a team of employees to meet daily production goals.  This position will report to the third shift Production Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:
 
  • Oversee nightly production, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met.
  • Lead and train a team of production employees, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Monitor and report on production output, productivity, and quality metrics.
  • Identify and resolve minor production issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate effectively with the team, other departments, and the Production Manager, including leading shift start meetings. 
  • Problem-solving, monitoring the floor and eliminating any roadblocks to meeting production goals. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
 
This is a night shift position; candidates need to be willing to work the night shift long-term.  Hours are 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.  Candidates should be able to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments and be able to hold others accountable. This position is eligible for a two-tier medical plan, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, 401K, paid holidays, paid vacation and tuition reimbursement. Candidates will be on the manufacturing floor 100% of the day; your desk is even on the floor! REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor:1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED2. At least one year in a similar supervision role 3. Experience overseeing at least 10 employees 
4. Experience conducting disciplinary actions
5. Experience approving timecards and vacation for employees 6. Willingness to work the night shift long term
7. Computer skills, including email 
 
Skills preferred but NOT required:1. Non-union supervision 
2. Continuous improvement initiatives 
3. Has done employee evaluations
