Due to an upcoming retirement, a well-established manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Designer to design electrical panels for their equipment line.  The Electrical Designer will be trained by a long-term employee and will work with a team of engineers to complete new equipment projects.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  
 
  • Create and modify wiring schematics for equipment design; most designs are modified from previous equipment designs
  • Design and build the control panel by programming and creating schematics
  • Adhere to UL standards and eventually become the UL expert at the plant
  • Spend up to 15% of the time on electrical support and troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor and installation
  • Support R&D projects and new designs
  • Modify bill of materials and assist with owner’s manuals
  • Work in AutoCAD to design control panels
  • Complete digital and analog programming related to PLCs
  • Work on up to three electrical projects at a time
  • Support the sales team on quoting initiatives
  • Other duties as directed by management 

Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with manufacturing on status of projects and providing technical electrical support to internal and external customers as needed. REQUIREMENTS for the Electrical Designer:
1. Minimum of a high school diploma with at least two years in a similar electrical design engineering position
2. Experience performing similar functions at an OEM or machine integrator 
3. Experience understanding and modifying electrical schematics    
4. 2D AutoCAD 
5. Mechanical aptitude 
6. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. UL certification 
2. PLC programming 
3. HMIs

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Tiffin, OH area.  There is not a relocation package available at this time.
