Manufacturer is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Manager to be responsible for a specific area of the plant and oversee direct and indirect reports in operations.  As the Sr. Manufacturing Manager, you will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:
 
  • Lead, develop, motivate and coach staff, including holding your team accountable to production goals and KPIs 
  • Maintain safety, quality and on-time delivery for the department 
  • Monitor, evaluate and work to improve KPIs and metrics for the department 
  • Stay in tune with upward/downward trends of the department and create action items for improvement 
  • Identify and initiate continuous improvement projects related to scrap reduction, efficiency improvements, etc. 
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and determine corrective actions 
  • Oversee and monitor production schedules and make needed modifications 
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and update upper level management on the status of the department 
  • Complete required reports and analysis 
  • Cover all operating shifts in order to keep a pulse on the department 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize production
  • Partner with operations team members to determine root cause analysis and corrective actions in the assigned department
  • Other duties as directed by management
 
This is a fast-paced position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 70% of the time.  Individuals should be able to work within team oriented environments, be flexible with work duties, learn new tasks quickly, be able to handle changing priorities and enjoy supporting the manufacturing site by empowering their staff.  The ideal candidate will want to learn from their hourly team members and listen to their recommendations for improvements.  The company offers competitive medical benefits, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, 401K, paid holidays, vacation and tuition reimbursement.   REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Manufacturing Manager:1. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; a high school diploma and/or GED is required 2. At least three years in a similar manufacturing management position 
3. Experience overseeing direct and indirect production reports 
4. Experience overseeing a staff of at least 50 people 
5. A proven track record of continuous improvements, including scrap reductions, efficiency improvements, etc.  
6. Microsoft Office experience, including strong MS Excel skills Skills preferred but NOT required:1. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies Reasons to work for this organization:1.
