Summary/Objectives: The Warehouse Manager will develop and implement the strategic direction of the warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material handling areas. This position supervises and coordinates all activities of employees responsible for warehouse operations such as shipping, order filling, receiving, material movement, packaging/palletizing and local deliveries. The Warehouse Manager will oversee employee training and ensure that the employees meet acceptable performance standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop and implement strategic growth plan for this fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) like facility.
  • Develop work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Monitor productivity and goal achievement.
  • Manage staffing levels, assign duties and examine work for quality and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for effective management of assigned employees, including but not limited to, development, coaching, problem resolution, disciplinary actions, and employee reviews. Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Develop and implement an effective inventory management strategy in line with company goals and objectives
  • Utilize NetSuite ERP to perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of material transactions.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers and cost savings.
  • Responsible for ensuring all incoming materials are received, stored and shipped correctly.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a lean 5S standard and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Manages the movement of materials in the production areas.
  • Be available as required by customer demand to work additional time (overtime) throughout the year.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:  

·         High school diploma or equivalent and minimum 3-5 years of warehousing supervisor experience. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.

·         Knowledge of (FMCG) warehouse storage strategies, material movement methodologies and inventory control.

·         Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective picking and storage of manufactured and purchased goods.

·         Proficiency in using modern enterprise planning (ERP) systems a must.  NetSuite specific experience would be a plus.

·         Efficient in Microsoft Office suite.

 

Preferred:

·         Experience working in a warehouse and receiving department of a manufacturing company.

·         Experience designing and implementing product stocking methods and efficient material handling procedures.
