Operations Manager

The Operations Manager reports directly to the VP Operations. They are responsible for day-to-day operations of the shop floor which consists of 50 Non-Unionized Hourly workers (15 temporary / 35 full time hourly employees).

There are 3 Floor Supervisors reporting into the Operations Manager as each floor supervisor manages different departments on the shop floor. The plant runs one shift from 7:00am – 4:00pm.

The plant floor is of construction / assembly processes (Metal, plastics) with fabricated parts outsourced to suppliers.

You will be responsible for:

Continuous Process Improvements to the plant floor (2 departments with 2 different product line. Wall Mounted and Mobile Work Stations)
Supervision of 3 Floor Supervisors
Material Traceability, Step by Step processes with strong analytical skills.
Assembly, Cell Construction
Responsible for daily orders, scheduling, report shipping.

Qualifications

5 – 7 years of Experience in a shop that has a light Assembly environment
Bachelor od Industrial Engineering background or smiliar background
5+ years of Operations Management or Shop Floor Supervision background managin a non-unionized shop. Ideally from furniture manufacturing industry or similar related industry. (Teknion, Steelcase, Ontario Store fixtures, Inscape)
