Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Set-Up Person to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and preparing CNC milling machines to ensure efficient and precise production of parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC machinery, programming, and setup procedures, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and ensure high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-Up & Calibration:

    • Set up CNC mills for production, including installing and aligning fixtures, tools, and raw materials.
    • Calibrate machine components to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Machine Operation:

    • Operate CNC mills to machine parts according to specifications, drawings, or blueprints.
    • Monitor the machine operation, adjusting settings as needed to maintain tolerances and quality standards.
  • Tool Management:

    • Select, install, and maintain the appropriate cutting tools for machining operations.
    • Perform regular tool changes and monitor wear to ensure consistent machining quality.
  • Blueprint Reading & Programming:

    • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to set up machines accurately.
    • Assist in basic CNC programming or program modification as necessary.
  • Inspection & Quality Control:

    • Inspect finished parts using various measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
    • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks to verify part quality.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

    • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot machine issues, making adjustments or repairs as needed to prevent downtime.
  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and tools.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Record setup details, machine performance, and any adjustments made during the production process.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors and assist in resolving them.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:

    • High School diploma or equivalent; vocational training in CNC machining or related field preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of [X] years of experience in CNC mill setup and operation.
    • Experience with various CNC mill machines and equipment.
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of CNC milling machine setup and operation.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
    • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Basic CNC programming skills or the ability to modify existing programs.
  • Physical Requirements:

Preferred Skills:
