We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide essential therapeutic services to patients with various physical, emotional, and developmental challenges. As a COTA, your primary focus will be on implementing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patients’ abilities to perform daily activities and improve their quality of life. You will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, patients, and their families to support rehabilitation goals and foster a holistic approach to patient care. Your skills in communication, empathy, and clinical knowledge will be pivotal in helping patients regain independence and confidence. Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed occupational therapists in evaluating patients and developing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and techniques as directed by the occupational therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and document changes accurately in the patient's record.
  • Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation techniques and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is functional and sanitized.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and align rehabilitation efforts.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions regarding patient progress and goals.

Requirements

  • Must have home health experience
  • Must have a state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic practices and the ability to adapt treatment plans to meet patient needs.
  • Physical stamina and strength to assist patients in rehabilitation activities and transport mobility aids.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in occupational therapy practices.
