IMPACT: The Technical Business System Analyst, ServiceNow, will work as part of our client’s MIS team, playing a hands-on role shaping and optimizing the company’s ServiceNow platform and related systems that support audit, compliance, and inventory operations. LOCATION: Reston, VA. This is a flexible hybrid, requiring work from the office 2x/wk

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Design and deliver solutions within the ServiceNow platform — from gathering requirements and managing backlogs to testing and deploying enhancements and integrations.
  • Collaborate across teams and technologies, working with internal stakeholders, vendors, developers and project teams to integrate COTS/SaaS solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of discovery and integration infrastructure (ServiceNow, UCMDB, Flexera), managing schedules, mid-servers, credentials, and patterns to ensure system health and data accuracy.
  • Work with developers to create and support RESTful APIs, Linux scripting, and database integrations to enhance automation and performance across the application landscape.
  • Apply analytical and architectural thinking to design scalable, secure, and compliant systems that connect seamlessly with Verisign’s broader technology ecosystem.
  • Prototype, test, and refine ideas quickly, using your technical creativity to turn complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Ensure quality and maintainability through well-documented processes, strong testing practices, and concise technical communication with senior management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, evolving our application platform to meet future growth, security, and operational needs. 
     

IDEAL PROFILE

We’re looking for a hands-on technologist and problem solver who thrives on optimizing systems and driving impact. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical depth, analytical thinking, and curiosity. Must be able to collaborate, map, work through issues with developers, manage process, etc.  

  • 8+ years of IT experience (or 6+ with a master’s) with a strong background in ServiceNow—across modules such as ITSM, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, CMDB, Release Management, GRC, or Vendor Risk Management.
  • Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) / IT Asset Management (ITAM) for both on-prem and SaaS environments; familiarity with tools like USU, SNOW License Manager, or HP Asset Manager is a plus.
  • Some familiarity of RESTful web services, Linux, scripting, and technical audit platforms; strong OS and Web UI understanding.
  • Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodologies (ideally using Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint) and experience across the full system life cycle.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, AIX, KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset and communication skills—able to work with developers to translate complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • Certifications in ServiceNow administration is preferred.

LOCATION: Must currently reside within the USA and live within a reasonable commute to Reston VA in order to work a hybrid schedule or relocate to the area with company 
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or a related field
