ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required. See JSA & PDA for this position for details safety instructions.
• Understand ISO 9001 requirements / Company's Quality Policy. Always follow work instructions and procedures as established through the company's Quality Policy.
• Modify existing reporting systems for new methods, new material specifications and new products
• Create new machinery and process systems
• Implement process improvements
• Write and update standard operating procedures
• Train personnel
• Develop and modify foam formulations that meet customer and organization expectations
• Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
• Cross train in other positions as required.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employee’s supervisor.
• Review KPI metrics such as yield and scrap reports
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
People and project management experience desired
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong data analytical skills(math skills, formulations, calculations)
Solid computer skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or at least 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably some polyurethane foam or polymer industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
The mathematical skills required are those that come with an engineering degree.
Including but not limited to university level algebra, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, process controls and fluid flow phenomena. Manipulation of production numbers to calculate yields, usages, and various other process
